I have a 2002 Trailblazer LTZ with a factory bose system with onstar. Im looking at installing an aftermarket cd player with bluetooth, ipod and sat ready. Now i've installed cd players in the past but im wondering how much more complex this system is? Losing the onstar is not a big deal for me as i dont use it, im more concerned with frying something or blowing my system. Is it the same as wiring any other gm deck? When i spoke with the guy from the audio place he acted as if it were brain surgery, now given they want the business so they will naturally overexaugurate things but i wanna be sure. Any help would be appreciated

Its not too bad. I think you have to buy some kind of adapter to retain the door chime. I don't know too much about it, but its definitely not brain surgery!
get the proper integration module for your vehicle and everything will be a breeze. Onstar will be retained, chimes will be retained, and retained accessory power will be retained. it will be a matter of matching the wire colours, and plugging the RCA's into the radio.
