Exclamation Banging my head !

Okay.......so I installed the nav and the Gen 5 lockpick. Head unit worls and reads theftlock so that is good. However, I sat there for a long time trying to figure out where the extra plugs go to. I dont know how to really explain it. So I am gonna try.......
For VCIM wire, does it plug into the unit which is located under the deck? I plugged it in, and it fit, so I think I am right.
Also.....VSS wire.......does Gen5 support this or do I still need to tap into the junction box (green wire with white strip)
Its so irritating cause I am almost there....someone please help?????

Last question.....after I plug all these things in correctly, I plan to go to the dealer and have them reprogram the deck. Is it recommended to program without the lockpick, vss wire and vcim attatched, or is it okay to go ahead and have it programmed with everything connected?

Thank you so much for bearing with me, and for all of your help....

Eric

Make sure the lockpick is disconnected, it can mess with the data lines when they are programming
VCIM harness plugs into the silver box below the radio....formerly known as the "VCIM"
you may or may not be able to get vss from the lock pick....read the instructions to find out the capabilities of the unit. I have never seen\installed one before and I have always gone to the junction block for vss

Thanks for all your help Shawn. So I finally installed the deck, got the deck programmed, and it was a dream. Tech here in Hawaii was "worth his weight". In and out in 15 mintes...thanks to your posts, and his ability to follow directions.
VCIM was plugged in and Gen 5 works. I dunno why, but nothing was tapped to the junction area, and everything works like a charm.
You guys are awesome ! Thanks for all the pm's and thank you Shawn for doing us a great big favor to avoid the troubles and screw ups.
Aloha from Hawaii !
