Default Paint OEM fender flares?

I just picked up an 04 Tahoe LT. It's black and has the fender flares on it. I'm wanting to either get a painted black bumper or bumper cover and grill inserts to have the whole thing black and chrome.

Do you think I should paint the fender flares or leave them alone? Hell, can they be painted at all? I think it would look better instead of the plastic look. Thanks for the input guys. I'm just getting started around here!

Well I may be showing bias on the subject, but they look perfect the way they are!

Default paint

Jeep flares are painted all the time.

Infact, with the TJ with faded flares, a trick is to use a heat gun (GENTLY) and it makes them jet black again...

They can be painted, just requires proper prep and flex additive.
