Default Disable Daytime Running Lights

Any idea of how to disable the Daytime Running Lights (DRL)? I am about to install a set of HIDs and I don't to blow the bulbs. Register today for free or log-in if already registered to remove this ad!

The DRL is a seperate bulb next to the turn signal, so it will not always have the headlights on, also you can turn the headlight switch back to the off position and it will turn off the lights.

I already knew that. However I want to prevent the lowbeams from turning on when I feel they don't need to be. Maybe I think I should of been a little more specific. Sorry.

simple, dont use the 'auto' setting. you dont need to disable anything to do that.

So your saying the sensor doesnt make the lights come on automatically? I am trying to prevent them from turning on at all. I want to manually do that. I dont think its that simple.

I did try to pull the DRL fuses, still didnt work. I think I need to pull the fuse on the sensor that turns on the light. That's my next try.

In recent studies DRL's have been found to reduce the likely hood of a head collision (on two-way roads) by as much as 37%.

I cannot think of a single prudent reason to disable this feature.
