Default help truck wont run right

Ok guys. the other day I was driving my 01 Silverado 4.3 v6 on the freeway. While going up hill the truck down shifted to pull the hill. There was a pop and then I ping noise that went away a few moments later. After that the service engine soon light came on and started flashing and the truck lost power. I pulled of the freeway and it die. I got it to start back and went to the closest parts store. The code was a p0300. So first I replaced the plugs and wires ac delco plugs. no change I replaced the distributor cap and rotor helped a little but not much. I change coil pack, ignition control module, plugs, wires, fuel pressure is good compression is good but has a random misfire. I have read in other post about the distributer could be the cause which did seem really loose but doesn't explain the pop and ping noise I herd from the motor. And it hasn't made that sound since. any info would be appreciated as I don't have the money to keep throwing parts at it

Pickup coil? Well, I looked at your screenname 1988, thinking it was a 1988.

Have you changed where you buy gas? You might try some heet or something similar in the gas.

Turns out there was no compression on cyl 6 I pulled the head it had a bent vavle. Had the heads rebuilt and the truck runs great.
