'04 Silverado 6.0L starter issue

I have a 2004 2500 w/6.0L awd. I am about ready to put the 5th starter in this truck. <150k miles. The last one was brand new & last maybe 14-16 mos. Any ideas.

The main problems with starters not lasting is alignment to the ring rear, too much heat or poor power. Are you installing the starter yourself? I would make sure that the starter gears are aligned properly and that you have the correct shims. You may want to check with Summit racing for a new starter. I have had good luck with the powermaster starters.
