Default 07 sileravo parking brake

I had new rear brakes installed on my 07 silverado at a local garage and told them to check out why my parking brake won't hold the truck. You can apply the parking brake but if you put it in drive and apply slight throttle it moves the truck with ease. My brakes where replaced and the drums turned for $112.00 but they said they ajusted the E-brake cable all they could and the truck will still move forward with the parking brake on..Today i thought i'd set the brake and see if the truck moved in reverse. Well it will not go backwards at all with the parking brake applied, and i put some throttle to her too. Could the brake shoes be on backwards?

If they are the type retained with one large spring; the e-brake lever comes attached to the shoe. You can't mix that type up.

does either the service brake or e-brake pedal have a deep pedal? If yes, there is to much play in the shoe to drum adjustment. Turn the star wheel adjuster tighter.

More than likely the rear brakes are not adjusted properly. Also even properly adjusted brake will move forward when giving it gas.

Thanks to both of your responses. I'll adjust the star wheel tomorrow and report
