1986 k10 305 performance?
I'm on a bit of a budget, but I have my project truck that I want to make beefier. I bought it from my brother for 2 grand, it runs good with a recently rebuilt carb. It has 147,XXX miles on the stock engine which hasn't been rebuilt, as far as I know. It has a 4 inch suspension lift with 33" pro comp tires, which will be replaced by either 35" or 37" tires after a 2" body lift.
I'm new to playing around with chevy small blocks and carbureted engines. (I usually toy with my 03 corolla. Very manly =P)
I need a good power boost for a cheap price, so does anyone have any ideas on what I can slap on this 305 ci v8?
Thanks

if strictly mud, headers for 100 bucks (or cheaper) per pair and strait to a short pipe and cherry bobs at 20 bucks per and a cam and timing chain (i perfer cloys double roller for cheap reliability) usually u can get both for around 200 bucks. dont go too huge, the big cams could make it so u cant run regular fuel in 305's (they have higher compression) just go with a big RV cam for more torque and poof u have about 30 more horses that will be swallowed by your bigger tires lol, best off finding a used 350 that doesnt smoke and perform the same modifications to it, 305's are so limited by their heads it isnt even funny, you will be better off in the end plus you can do the cam swap while the truck is still running around and be on an engine stand (if you have access)
