Default Oil pressure at hwy cruise

Is it normal for oil pressure to move some when cruising at a constant speed? Mine rides between 40-45 doing 65-70mph. It's not a fast movement. It will be running at 44 for a bit then drop to 40 then a few seconds later will go back up to 44. Just seems to me that it should be at a constant psi cruising down the highway.

Wasn't sure. Didn't remember it doing it before, but I've been paying more attention to potential issue lately as my Cert. Used warranty is almost up.

Hi tsduke.

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Between 40 and 50 is normal.

With most oil gauges, you can actually tell by the drop in oil pressure when you need your next oil change.
