1994 K1500 will not start
Hello,
I have a 1500 with a 5.7l and it will not start. It ran fine on Saturday morning but when I tried to start it on Sunday all it did was crank.
At first I suspected the fuel pump, found a site that listed a test procedure and I found that if I apply power to the fuse terminal the pump runs, but I check for voltage on the fuel pump relay and all of the pins are 0V.
Elsewhere I read that the ECM provides power to the relay and they said to check and see if the Check Engine light comes on when you turn the key to run. I checked my truck and the CEL does not come on thus indicating the ECM maybe faulty.
I've checked all of the fuses under the dash and everything looks fine so I'm thinking my ECM could be shot.
Can anyone confirm if the ECM is likely at fault? An ECM isn't that expensive at the wreckers, but I'd like to be sure I'm approaching the problem correctly before I go and drop $70 on something I may not need.
Thanks for your help,
Jason
