1996 Chevy won't start when cold
First time posting here. Hope you guys can point me in the right direction. My '96 3/4 ton has a 5.7 Vortec that recently developed an aversion to starting when the engine is cold. Cranks up immediately if I use starting fluid. This past winter it had no problem starting cold even after sitting outside at 20 below zero. Once the engine is warm it starts fine. Hoping I don't have to replace 10 different things to find the one that aint working. Ideas?

fuel pressure?check the resistance on the colant temp sensor when cold (sitting overnight) you can google it and get the chart to see what the resistance should be at a certain temp if not i should be able to copy it from my manual

I would suspect the time delay relay that runs the pump for a few seconds to pressure up the system before starting. In a quiet area turn the key on and see if you hear the pump run for a short time.

Thanks guys! I pulled the coolant temp sensor and found it was giving very low #s. Replaced it this morning and the truck starts right up. Sean, you probably saved me several hundred bucks, cause I would have replaced a lot of other things first. Thanks again!
