1998 chevrolet silverado wouldn't start
A couple of days ago my 1998 chevrolet Silverado 5.0 liter engine (163 000 kms) wouldn't start. First thing came to mind was the fuel pump was gone because you couldn't hear it running. About 2 hours I decided to try it again but still nothing. Then decided to turn the key into the run position without turning the engine over several times and sure enough I heard the pump start running again. I have since put about 600 kms on the truck without incident. What happened? could my pump be failing.

RE: 1998 chevrolet silverado wouldn't start
I apparently have a bad connection on my Suburban that makes it act as if the fuel pump is bad. At random times (and fortunately not often), the fuel pump will not run when I turn the ignition on. I open the hood and take the top off the under hood fuse box and press down on the relays and fuses and the pump then starts acting normally. The relay seems to be OK, so I think it must be in the wiring harnessunder the fuse box. When I am able, I will take a closer look and try to find the bad circuit, but for now it's a remedy. I only discovered this after I had changed the fuel pump, thinking it was bad.
Anyway, something for you to try if it acts up again.
Good luck.
