Default 2000 Silverado 4.8L V8 Fuel Filter: O-rings?

I replaced my fuel filter and noticed that one side has a small leak. I removed it and reinstalled thinking the there may have been dirt in the threads or cross-threaded. I snugged up the nuts and still have a small gas drip on the same side (the gas 'out' side).

My question: I noticed there were no O-rings on the fuel lines and do not remember if they were there before. Do you know if there should be O-rings on the fuel line just on the metal raised lip that would make contact with the fuel filter? I noticed there were no O-rings on the fuel lines and do not remember if they were there before. I watched a you-tube video of someone changing the fuel filter on the same truck and it looked like there were small black O-rings.

Thank you in advance!

Hi All. Even though there has been no replies, I wanted to update what has happened. On the first day, with the truck in idle, the leak would be about one drop of fuel every minute.

For some reason, the leaking stopped on the second day. I am not sure if the connection need to 'set in' or not, but I did not tighten the connecting bolts any more since I was concerned with stripping the threads.

Looks like the problem fixed itself!

Glad to hear your problem went away. My 99 had no o-rings on either end.
