Default 2001 Silverado exhaust

Hey I have a 2001 chevy silverado 1500. I was looking into putting a new exhaust on it and was wondering what your opinions are. I looked at cherry bomb glass packs and they looked pretty good. Or there is the flowmasters. I was just wondering your opinions and what some good exhasuts are that sound good. the Cherry bomb extreme looks like you can fake duel it that way, but I dont know if it would sound good. Thanks for the help! Brian

well by these mentioned sounds like you want it loud my opinions is a straight threw design muffler magnaflow makes glasspacks which is probably what im going to put on my truck they sound way different then ordinary glasspacks
other recomendations
12 inch dynomax bullet
round magnaflow muffler muffler 14x4
oval magnaflow 11 inch
dont go with flowmasters they have a restrictive design and root out fast
also if you want dual pipes you can get a single in single out muffler and run a y pipe behind the muffler or run true duals but use a x or h pipe with true duals

Ok thanks for the reply. Do you know if magnaflow packs sound like cherry bomb packs. I like my pickup to be different than the normal. I guess any glass pack would float my boat but it's nice to get a good one that sounds nice. And is it best to weld the new exhaust in or just clam it?

well magnaflow glasspacks are completely different because
1. most glasspacks have louvers the magnaflow one is perferated like a bullet
2. glasspacks use fiberglass packing magnaflow uses a different kind
3. glasspack come in different sizes magnaflow comes in many sizes but not many options on the length of them
they wouldnt be loud or raspy like normal ones either just a smooth tone
heres some links to youtube vids of them

I'm not Sure weather I want magnaflow or cherry bomb. How does the loudness comPair between the two. Do they both make the crackle noise. I was kinda leaning toward the cherry bomb extreme with the single to duel. I'm assuming you leave the cat on, what happens if you take it off? Thanks for the replies it helps a lot.

cherry bomb will be louder and have more pope and crackle as far as glasspacks go if you went with the extreme then it would be loud even with the cat in if you take the cat out yes you will have more flow but will also be more louder and pop and crackle more

Imay have changed my mind to just go with true duel exhaust. I was thinking of putting cheery bombs on there. Should I take the two cats off, or should I just hook up the two pipes after the two cats and before the collector?

Don't get caught taking the cats off - especially if you live in a state that has a very tough annual inspection process!
