Default 2001 V-6 Slow Cranking , Will Not Start ???

Battery Good , Cranks Slow , wants to cough through the Throttle Body , did this for a few days then started , seemed to Run Fine , now will Not Start , puff of smoke came out twice in back of the air filter to throttle body plastic cover , did not smell like electrical , symptoms to me it slipped time , maybe A fuel pressure regulator and Engine could be hydraulic-ing what do you think , thanks for any input and thanks for the use of this Forum.

Low fuel pressure, weak spark or a flooded engine (from another problem) is the most likely cause. Jumped timing is possible but not nearly as likely.

I checked the Battery Cables today , at the battery and both connections at the starter and the ground , everything is clean , could the starter be bad? the starter engages the flywheel and the Engine turns over just slow , what other things can I check? thanks.

it is possible that start is bad, drawing way too much power, not leaving enough for the computer to sense/read everything. you had battery tested?
