Is the compressor cycling to quick ? If not and it has proper amount of freon, it should cool. To much freon as well will not cool as it should. Good luck,

Cycling too Quick
When you say cycling too quick ---
How quick is too quick ?
What is the acceptable time for the cycle on off of compressor ?

what does "in the green" mean and how big are the cans? if it gets cold interittently the first things to check are refrigerant charge, clutch air gap and pressures

well you have to have patience people don't just hover over the forums all day and people that do it all day at the shop dont always feel like being nice and giving away free knowledge that most people pay for.
Did your "cans of freon" have sealer in them? most of those crappy "top off" kits do and if they did YOU probably clogged the orifice tube, and if you didn't then you'll have bigger problems in the future or someone did a repair half *** in the past. A/C is a sealed system you shouldn't randomly develop a clog.
