2002 silverado 1500 front speaker wires missing?

2002 silverado 1500 front speaker wires missing?
I bought this truck and never really realized that the front speakers were missing... not a huge deal but just havent taken the time to really look into it. There are aftermarket speakers in the front, i took off the door panel on both sides and there is no wire for the speakers to plug in to. My question is would they be stuck behind that black rubber boot? The previous owner had replaced the rockers and more than likely removed the doors to do it... What color would the speaker wire be? and if it were missing how hard is it to run new ones? Thanks for the help.
