Default 2003 chevy 2500 6.0

new to this site...looking into a 03 2500 4wd silverado. everything about this truck is spotless and it runs better than it looks. the only thing is that it has 146k miles on it. was wondering if anyone had any knowledge on the 6.0...is it a pretty decent motor? any rough estimates on how many miles ittl run till? ive worked my *** off for 10 years now to be able to afford a truck like this and its the truck of my dreams im just worried on how much longer its going to last me considering how many miles are on it. any advice is appretiated. they want 9k for it which seems like a lot to me but in my position i feel its an alright deal cause im figurin on puttin no more than 4k miles on it a year(thats about what i put on my tired old ford) thanks in advance

welcome to the site
my 1999 2500 has a 6.0 in it and it has 260000 miles on it still runs great and i expect to get another 100000 more miles if not more out of it and i still pull alot with mine as well as a daily driver these truck are great and like to be worked as long as basic matenance is done it will run for as long as you want it to the only major things ive done is change the fuel pump and altenator everything else is basic
change oil every 5000 miles
change air filter every 10000 miles (worth investing for a reusable one pays for its self)
changed the fuel filter every 30000 miles
change spark plugs and wires every 100000 miles
change breaks(dpending on driving style) 50000-100000 miles
make sure all fluids are filled and air preasure in the tires are right and it will run for a long time you wont be disapointed

Just so you know going in- The 6.0 is a GAS HOG. My 2004 2500 4x4 ccsb gets 9.5-13.5 MPG. A custom tune might get you more, but don't expect much. Other than that, I'm content with mine but like you I use it 3,000-4,000 miles a year.
