I heard that dexcool can eat at the gaskets head and intake what do you think customer service?

I don't think it's an issue with the 5.3. I have a 2000 5.3 with dexcool. Had it flushed two years ago, and replaced with dexcool. I think the problem was the 5.7 plastic turkey tray in the intake, plastic gaskets, what next.......... I hope someone with more experience can confirm this.

as long as you maintain and flush it you'll be fine, any coolant will eat gaskets if its not serviced

They say dexcool is the only thing you are supposed to put in the GMs especially because with having the aluminum block the regular coolant will cause corrosion. I would not use anything else other than dexcool.

Dexcool is the only thing they say to use in GM's. Either use Dexcool or go to a shop who can flush/fill with Safety-Kleen's Khameleon Antifreeze.

Yes, they do but that would require someone to put down their computer and actually read print. Seems it's easier to have someone else do your work for you.

if everyone went by the owners manual the aftermarket and performance worlds wouldnt exist
