I just installed the DIC console in my recently purchased 2009 Silverado Crew Cab work truck and can't get the outside temp or compass to show up on the display. Everything else works but this. Does the work truck DIC not have a outside temp sensor and compass installed? Thanks for your advice in advance.

On my 2007 Tahoe the temp and compass are on the rear view mirror not the DIC. I would imagine the Silverado would be the same.

On my 07 Tahoe the temp sensors are located right inside the grill, I would suspect they are in the same or very similar place on the truck, if you see them then the option should be available if they are not there then you probably are not wired for the option.
theDIC switch should only give you the ability to see engine related items.. MPG,fuel gallons used, hours engine has ran and the tire pressure monitoring system reading of each tire, and average MPG if you have the active fuel managemetn system...

the compass and temp should all read thru the rear view mirror as mdtahoe stated...
