'81 6 Cyl 4X4 Tuning etc...
I just picked up this GEM in the RUFF... Good solid truck with some typical rust on the body etc...
Not terribly butchered either...
however, I need to get refreshed on carburetor equipped power plants...
It has the "Vari-Jet II" on it... When I got it, it was lacking a gasket between carb top and body so someone has been it obviously... It has typical terrible "flat spot" under acceleration, even sitting in the yard out of gear... I do not know if the vac advance is hooked to the correct port nor if it is functioning correctly at the distributor...
I intend to install new weight plates and advance canister... But I am finding it impossible to find charts, exploded views etc. on line... I gave away my last Rochester manual by haynes and would rather stay the cheapskate route online... I am suspecting that this forum is the place to be... Heck.. i even have to buy another timing light....
