Hey there, KMac72,

Welcome to the Chevy Forums.

Only 131$? Did prices drop?

Maybe they got me for 229$ five years ago for the same

switch because mine is a four door. Is your pickup a two-

door model?

2008 Silverado here.

* Left front speaker isn't working.

* Passenger side window controls don't work.

* Brake lights staying on.

* Cruise control not working (likely because of brake light issue?)

Time for a RECALL!

Default 2008 Radio speakers

My 2008 Avalanche had the same problem, which is that the OEM speakers are junk. I replaced all four of mine in the doors with Kenwood speakers and now have excellent quality sound.

Add me to the list. Is anyone having an issue, after putting in new speakers, that the water that comes into the door from the crappy seals ruins these speakers as well?

Hello seamuskennison,

This is certainly something we don’t like to hear, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused to you. We would be more than happy to look further into this end and to explore what options are available to you moving forward. If interested, please send us a private message with your VIN, current mileage, full contact information and name of preferred dealership.

Default 2008 Silverado

I have all of these same problems.

Front door speakers don't work
Passenger window controls don't work from driver side
Cruise control rarely works

This is obviously a huge problem with these vehicles. The best course of action would probably be to file in small claims court or a class action forcing GM to fix these very common problems. I am so disappointed in GM for failing to take action on this.

My cruise control sometimes won't engage. The problem is the switch on the brake pedal. If I put my toe under the brake pedal and lift it as far as it will go after the cruise doesn't engage, it has always worked immediately thereafter. When the problem gets bad enough I will replace the switch on the brake pedal.

Default Easy fix

Your absolutely right. The lifting didn't work but the whole switch was 15$ and took less than 5 min to change. Thank you! I hope others see this

Everybody knows we can pay through the nose and take it to the dealership. People are asking for solutions or suggestions from people with similiar problems.
