Default 4l80e reverse problem

This may be a little lengthy but i want to make sure i give all the info i can. I have a 2007 silverado 2500 hd , 6.0 engine and a 4l80e trans. I just got the truck used and had the issue when i got it. After the truck has been driven and warmed up, if i stop and put it in reverse it acts like the torque converter is trying to lock up and choke the engine down. Sometimes it will cut the engine off but most of the time just makes it idle rough. If it does choke down i can restart the engine and then its fine in reverse. It also feels like it tries to lock in ,in drive soon as i press the gas. It idles fine all the time in drive just chokes down in reverse. I have a buddy that works for the chevy dealership and he replaced the torque converter ,filter and trans fluid. Now it feels like it should in drive and is better in reverse . The truck will be fine when i put it i n reverse a few times then it may start acting like its trying to choke down the next time. When it does this in reverse i can let off the brake and it will pull off like i am letting out the clutch on a straight drive.
