I started with checking for spark. i received a weak orange spark from a plug that i pulled. prior to this problem i replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotorbutton. ran great for 2 or 3 weeks. now it wont fire up. so, i replaced the ignition coil, still wont fire up. from what i understand... its either the pickup coil or the ignition module. If its the pickup coil how do i replace it? Do i have to take the shaft of the distributor off or can i get to it without? and is there a way to tell what the problem might be besides buying both parts?

It's the module I would put money on it.

The module on mine (90 350) was iirc under the distributor on the back, and the first one I got to replace it went bad in a month. Took it back got replacement and no issues since.

I went thru almost the exact same thing. replaced the cap, bug, wires, etc before landing on the module.
