93 chevy 1500 4X4 transmission question
I have a 93 chevy 4X4 and i have noticed here recently that the transmission does not want to shift down out of overdrive sometimes. It tries to shift but the rpm just keep climbing until you grab the shifter and pull it down to drive. It acts like it gets stuck in between. I notice it more pulling a small trailor, but also does it with nothing behind it. Thanks ahead of time.

What you're describing is either a "flare" or a 'slip'; hard to tell without actually driving the truck.
When was the last time you replaced the fuel filter? A partially clogged filter just drives these transmissions crazy.
At any rate, I wouldn't get too far away from home until you have this transmissiion checked out by a competent mechanic/rebuilder.

I have never really thought about that or really heard of that. It does fine shifting up and like i said when i does it i can manually shift it with the shifter and it down shifts fine then. But hey the fuel filter is a easy and cheap thing to try so why not. Thanks for the info. Maybe it will help.
