93 silverado 5.7l clicking engine noise
hey everybody,
I have 1993 chevy silverado with a 5.7l engine. There's a clicking engine noise that has been happening for at least two months on and off. Before i got my last oil change it would sound in the middle of me driving, but after the oil change it starts about 10 seconds after i turn on the truck, up until about 5 minutes later then it goes away from what i can hear. There have been maybe two times where the sound got louder then usual, one of them being last night and i had to let the car cool down. I live in Florida so it's always kind of hot year round but last night and for the past two weeks it has been in the mid 50s. I noticed my engine wouldn't make the clicking sound as much during the cold weather. I would appreciate your inputs.

Sounds like a lifter tap, possible lifter bleeding down. If you have high mileage you might need to adjust the valves, not a difficult job. Had a 1990 350(5.7) with 180k on it doing the same thing till I adjusted the valves then all quiet.
