96 Chevy C1500
Hey everyone eventually i want to drag race my 1996 chevy C1500 RWD with a 5.0 305 V8 i was looking into stuff to mod it here is what i came up with
350 Ram jet engine with a hursh shifter and trans lock
uprgraded racing transmission (i dont remember the name)
and an upgraded rear axle system
is there anything else anyone can think of to help
also i was wondering is there anything i can do to the suspencion in the rear to add traction of the line seeing how its RWD i had one friend say i could reverse the leaf springs is that even possable?
if you have any advice to help that would be great thanks

i have a 95 c1500 with the 305 i'm making for drag racing. the only thing is, i'm keeping the 305 because i don't want to be like everyone else and do a 350 swap and that. the truck is still pretty quick and the trans and rear end are holding up great but there is no traction.
most leaf springs have a long end and a short end so if they were reversed it would mess up your axle position. find some nice sticky tires and a posi or locker rear end, preferably a 12 or 14 bolt, once you add more power the 10 bolt will fail. i have Hoosier Radial GT's on my truck and i fight traction off the line even after warming them up so you may have to look around.
