I have a 97 Silverado with a 5.7L and a 4L60E trans. I was driving down the freeway a week ago at 65mph, all of a sudden the motor revs way up on rpm's and I have no trans. at all,no forward gears and no reverse-nothing!Does anyone have any idea what would cause this tranny to lose everything all at once?Also, is there any tranny swaps I could do to eliminate this problem? I have heard the 4L60E is not a good tranny,is this true? HELP!!!

The 4l60E is about the only choice you have in that model due to electronics sounds like posse converter or transfer case problem try putting it in 4 wheel high see it it.moves it not remove transfer case and put truck in drive crawl under it see if output shaft is spinning or if you can get scan tool see what the transmission input turbine speed is if its zero bad converter or input shaft
