Squeak on a 2004 2500hd. Help me pleasee!
I have a 2004 2500hd that is squeking when idling in park, and when i hit about 2500rpm when driving. It is not a pulley or the serpentine belt and no heat shields are loose. It sounds like it is inside the bell housing or around the starter? I have laid under for hours trying to find the squeaking but no luck.
Anyone know what is wrong, or experiencing the same problem?
I need to sell the truck so i need to get this fixed asap. Thanks.

Have you looked at your fan for any damage. sounds to me like its hitting something, didnt get squeking out of that vid. If the bearings on fan our worn a bit, fan may wobble, hit fan shroud. doesnt take much, grab fan to see if any play in it. Just a thought

My fan looks good and their is no wear or play. But my serpentine belt has some odd wear on it. It is shredded on the back groove. So now I'm starting to think that something is going wrong on the front of the motor?
The noise is sooo hard to track down. I hate motor noise.
