Default 98 Silverado 5.7 scrapping clutch fan switching to electric fan

I am currently restoring a 98 silverado 5.7 heard of guys removing this big heavy clutch fan in favor of electric rad fans. im planning on doing this to, has anybody else done this? Heard of HP and gas mileage gains. I found new aftermarket dual 14in electric fans on ebay including mounting kits for $50. sounds like a cheap investment. love to hear everybodys thoughts.
