I have found a 1995 Chevrolet Z71 loaded truck I am interested in. The truck is an extended cab with 221,000 miles. I only want this truck as a beater and it looks like it has been taken care of. The paint looks great But I havent actually laid hands on the truck yet only in pictures. Before I go look at it, I have some questions.

1. I owned a 1998 Z71 back in the day. Could not keep a transmission in it, Were the 1995's automatics any better or worse?

2. It has the 350 engine other than checking the oil and coolant for cross contamination what else should I look for other than the obvious leaks.?

3. Price listed in $3800.00 I feel this is a little high and with the proper amount of jaw jacking I think I could get it for under $3000.00.

Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciatated. The truck in is North Carolina.
