Default bad Fuel pump

hey everyone,
the fuel pump on my 01 1500 4x4 5.3l finally went out, the sending unit went bad years ago and ive been waiting to change it out.
I tested the pressure and only got 15-10 psi, my question is has anyone tried the pump offered by some of the aftermarket websites? Autozone has my pump ( TCF Model) for $260 and I found a site offering it for $70 and it seems to have good reviews, any opinions?

The one thing to remember is you have to drop the tank, if you get a crappy new pump, and you have to replace it even with warrenty, you still have to pull the tank.

very aware of that, thats the reason I wanted to query the masses to see if there are known sites to avoid, am-autoparts.com is who Im looking at - they seem to be decent.

the ole proverbial you get what you pay for comes to mind here.....
GM parts direct has it listed for $243.87... there is a very good chance that if you go with OEM it will be the last time you have to change that pump.
Go with aftermarket and within a year or two you'll be spending that money again to replace it....
the factory one lasted you 11 years... just sayin'

I cannot help you with experience with this bargain pump, and I do understand money difference with the ones you are looking at. Best of luck!

Rather than drop the tank Itook the bed off my truck to replace the pump. IMHO ,I thought it was easier than rolling around on the ground and workin upside down...Just a thought.

Regards
