biggest tires i can fit on a near stock nbs 1500?
hi, i have an 08 nbs regular cab shortbed 2wd silverado. i'm getting a laveling kit soon and probably some tires to go along with it.
i have two questions: are nitto terra grapplers good for me if i want to do a bit of offroadins but nothing serious, and will i get similar gas mileage to what i get stock with them?
second: what is the biggest size i can fit on my truck without having any rubbing problems? i'll probably have the stock rims until i can afford to buy new ones, so give me the size in all the jumbled numbers that i would order them with.
oh, and if someone feels like it, explain to me what the tire size numbers mean, like when it says 285-70/r16 or something like that, tell me what it all means.
thanks!

RE: biggest tires i can fit on a near stock nbs 1500?
Tire size numbers:
285 = the width of the tire tread in milimeters
-70 = the height of the sidewall in respec to the percentage of the tire tread (ie: 70% of 285 = 199.5mm high sidewall, also, there are 25.4 mm in an inch)
r16= radius of the hole in the tire (should match your rim size
so a 285-70/r16 is a 16 inch rim with a 11.25inch wide tire with a 7.85inch high side wall
as for the sizing, check out this link: https://chevroletforum.com/searchpro...bmitbutton=+OK+

ONce you install the leveling kit and decide on the tire you want you can get the dimensions of the tire on the companies web site. Then do some measuring on your truck to be safe. Just remember your front wheels will be turning so check for clearance in the inside and against the bumper.
