Exclamation Brake Fluid leaking out of rear drum and soft pedal

Hello,
i have a 1996 K1500 5.7 and recently just had the master and brake booster replaced as the booster had sprung a vacuum leak. This were fixed and brakes were bled but afterwards i felt like me pedal was very soft and the brake dash indicator was coming on when stopping and going away when letting off. the pedal gets firm after setting parking brake and letting truck reverse a little bit then releasing the parking brake. Makes me wonder if it is a self adjusting problem with the rear, because the firm pedal only lasts for a short while before going soft again. My theory is that when the booster was bad the abs locked out the rear brakes and used the front disc only(the bad shoes have almost no wear even after 3 years of no change), now with the booster working and system bled the abs is powering the pull brake system; thus beginning the leak?

Any ideas???

thanks

abs systems do not work like that.

if a wheel cylinder is leaking as you state in your title, that is your problem.

How come the pedal firms up when activating the parking brake and then disengaging? It stays firm for a little while then goes soft again

Thanks

not sure. nevertheless ...if the wheel cylinder is leaking as you say, its an obvious problem that is very unsafe. It must be fixed anyway. Repairing it may clear up your problem. Fix the obvious stuff first.
