Default 2004 z71 newly bought 17 inch rims, just need tires

hey guys i need to know what the biggest size tire i can put on my 2004 z71 crew cab with newly bought 17 inch rims. what would be the safe bet. everything is stock meaning no lifts or torsion cranking or keys. was thinking going with nitto terra grapplers 245 70 17s. like 245 cuz i get great highway mileage. so let me know what u think.

245's look same on this body style truck. 265's would look alot better IMO. 285's look best to me but would probably cause rubbing issues unless you cranked the keys up some.

I have 265s on my truck and to be fully honest i wish i woulda gone with 285s. and personally id rather have my truck look sharp than worry about 2 extra miles a gallon. and id imagine height wise on the newer trucks without cranking the keys or lifting you would probably be ok with 32s

A buddy of mine has a 05 Z71(1500) with 17's and he put 285's and had to go get a leveling kit installed the same day due to extreme rubbing. It was kind of funny watching him getting turned around at the tire shop. He had 265's with no problems.
