Default Chevy Silverado 1500 Z71 6l80e 5-6 shifting problems

I have a 2010 Chevy Silverado with 48,000 miles and the 6l80e transmission and the 5.3. I understand that these are not the best shifting transmissions that GM has ever come up with, but recently I am beginning to notice a problem when shifting from 5th to 6th gear. In the middle of the shift, the rpm's of the engine rise about 300-500 rpm and then finally kick it into gear after about a half a second. I was just wondering if this was a sign that my transmission is about to crap out, or if it is some kind of electrical issue.

-Checked transmission fluid level and it is right at where it should be

-No transmission work has ever been done to the pickup

Well, from my recent experience, you're probably about to lose 6th gear. My 4l70e was doing that from 3-4 then started doing it 2-3 and now yesterday I don't have anything past 2nd. My situation was much more extreme though. It was a drastic slip when it really started to slip, I'd actually have to let up on the throttle to get it to go into gear. Mostly because my torque management was reduced 75%. But since yours is only rising 500 rpms before shifting, you could still have a couple thousand miles before it needs rebuilt/replaced. Hope this helps you.

Sorry to raise this from the dead, but I've been having this *exact* issue in my 2016 with a 6L80 & 5.3. I did replace the torque converter about 2 years/50k miles ago. I haven't seen many reports of this problem online - if you're still active and see this, what was the result? Like you, transmission fluid level is perfect, fluid is still nice and pink.
