Default chips?

i have a friend who told me he was putting a chip in his dodge (gas) and i was wondering what exectly they do and if its worth it. i got a 2002 silverado 2500 with the 6.0 vortec. what do they do? and is it something even worth getting in to?

Not worth it....contact Justin at blackbearperformance.com or Charlie at gowheatley.com and then get a custom tune and smoke that dodge's a$$

You can get a chip for better performance and you can get one for better fuel economy. Depends on what you want.

country says there **** and you say they help performance haha im not sure what they even do?

Go with a tune.. A chip cannot be re-programmed, for ex. You install a new cam or something of that nature. If you go with a tune you can always retune it.. So fawk the chip.. Either go with a shop around your area or call Wheatley. I would rather go with a shop as they actually do a custom tune to fit your trucks upgrades and your way of driving. Mail in programmers all have the same tune, all they do is copy and paste.. Hope it made a little sense.. Lol..

how does the wheatly tune work? they send me the tuned pcm?

I'd try to find a local dyno shop before sendin one off...I believe he sends you a tuned PCM and you send yours to him like a core almost
