I had to pull my tranny to replace my main seal now on occasion I will get a clank from the rear drive shaft after a stop sign, its weird it clank at about 5 mph not right at hitting the accelerator and doesn't do it all the time. I was wondering is a stuck/bad universal could do that? I know the cap came off one of the universals during removal but the rollers were still in place so I just put it back on and seemed to turn ok... And thoughts...2002 silverado 4wd

The u joints and connecting u bolts would be my first suspect.

had the shop remove the u joints and they were completely rusted out, stupid nylon injected clips. also found that i didnt tighten the two tranny mounting bolts

Well hope that ends all the clanking.
