454 water in oil
I have a 1 ton 454 1994 truck I just bought. It has 67K miles on it. It sat for 6 years before I bought it. I drove 150 miles and it leaked 2 qts of oil. When I pulled the dip stick it was sizzleing and had white froth on it. The dip stick was also rusty two days later. I had changed the oil and put in Valvoline hi milage oil and before I did that I used an oil flush. The radiator does not look like it is missing water maybe 2 cups. Would someone please recomend a troubleshooting procedure. I could go at it like I usually do which is dive in and just start taking stuff apart but I'm getting too old to have that much fun. I'm thinking maybe someone knows this is the most likely place to start and have a more disiplined procedure. It also had a bunch of knocks which have toned down to just two. One I think is the injectors making noise and the other sounds more like a lifter but I suppose it could be a pin or piston slap. I don't know how to differentiate between the two.

If you have white froth, makes me think head or intake gaskets. Coolant leakin' into the oil. But, your not missing a lot of coolant. I'd say pull the heads and replace both head gaskets. And of course the intake gasket.

water in oil could be a few things. like 'star stated, head gasket, intake gasket, cracked head or block as well. pull all the plugs out and note the condition of each. if there's any difference in condition between all of them, then you may have found cylinder with issue. as for knocks, a lifter will make a ticking sound, not really a knock. rods, pins are a harder sounding knock.
