Default Dome light electical trouble

On Tuesday my dome light bulb went out in my 93 Cheyenne , I replaced it but now my door switches do not turn on the light when doors are open, neither left or right.
It worked before I am 100% positive, I work nights so I would of noticed as soon as it happened, the light still turns on with the dimmer switch but that is it, I metered at the direction connector under the dash and it only reads 6V from tan to ground I've checked fuses and for bare wire and there isnt any problems there as I have seen
Does anyone have an clues or a diagnosis to this problem?
Please help, thank you.

Take the bulb out, with a voltmeter open the door, check voltage at the connector.
