I was reluctant to buy a dodge but everything else in my price range was a rust bucket. gm seem to have a higher used resale value than ford or dodge.

I have heard many trans complaints about dodge but the auto 5speed in mine was fine. I don't work on them everyday so its hard to compare with a small sample size.
driving it, it is so much better than any other 1500 series trucks I have test driven. As far as fixing stuff, gm are the easiest to work on.

We have a 2011 1500 Dodge 4-dr here in the yard along with some Fords and Chevys. The Dodge is my least favorite to drive.

Good thing there's more than one brand.

it has the Hemi - its the truck that I don't care for

It has more power than mine - actually the 2011 Ford 6.2 and the Hemi both have more power than Chevy does.

The Chevy's ergonomics fit me better than the others do. I just find the Chevrolet to be more comfortable to sit in and drive.

Every time someone I know buys a Dodge they tell me "it was $1000s less than a Ford or a Chevy".

I'll bet that if all three had the same price tag new Dodge sales would be cut in half.

I've had numerous vehicle makes and my two Chevy Silverado Z71s(1999 and 2004) have been the most reliable of any of the 15 or so cars and trucks I have owned.

My current Z71's transmission lasted 131,000 miles. But, that's just me.

Everyone gets a lemon once in a while.

I understand. However, I work with 4 guys that have 2007 or newer silverado. They have all had transmission problems, two also had engine problems, luckily they were under warranty. 3 other friends also had engine and tranny problems one being the salesman I bought it from. THats alot of lemons.
