sdrry, fading the speakers won't work. You have to disconnect the speaker in the driver side door

your best bet would be to put your door pin switch on a toggle switch so you can turn it off when you don't feel like hearing the chime.....need to know if you have a classic pick-up or new body style before I can help any further

This might be an abvious one but if your vehicle is off pull the key out just a bit, this will kill the chime, youl have to remember to do it for a while but then it is just habit.

Default chime

I do a lot of night work with lights on engine off chime drives me nuts, in my 01 silverado a mechanic just unpluged a little black chime controler some where and it solved the problem, just though my 07 would have the same chime controler

Chimes are built into the radio

if you have a base model truck(no windows\locks) you'll find a grey\black wire at the BCM, connector 4, pin B4.
If you have an uplevel truck(with windows\locks), you will find the grey\black wire in the drivers door at the door switches. It is in connector 2, pin 18.

Install a toggle switch on this wire, and when open, the computer will not know that the door is opened and will not produce a chime
