Default Dual Batteries / Battery Isolator / Power Inverter / Subwoofer

Hello all, This is my first post. Maybe the information is already on this forum but I can't located it.

I want to run a 3500 watt power inverter and also have 2x 1000 watt amps to run 2 subwoofers. The audio aspect of this question can be left out. Lets also assume that I will not run the inverter and the amps at the same time.

I'm thinking of adding a second battery to the truck and using a battery isolator with a switch to switch aux to main if I end up with a dead main battery.

The big question is do I need to have a bigger alternator to keep pushing enough power to 2 batteries?

2005 Silverado 4.3v6 Base model standard cab.

Thanks!

Your stock alternator should be fine. Add a Perfect Switch Dual Rectifier with a battery combine switch along with a secondary battery that attaches to the inverter, and you should be golden.
