Default Dual Climate problem!

First off, I am new to the forum, so hellloo everyone!

OK, so a few days ago I turned on the AC on my 06 silverado. I notice that only the passenger side is blowing cold air, and not the DS ( only hot air) I have read a few articles about a possible actuator??

Well this morning I take it to the chevy dealership, and they called me about three hours later saying it very well could be the actuator causing the problem? Ok, the service advisor quoted me $1700 just to take the whole dash out, and seats, WTF?!?

He tells me that to get to the actuator, or the "box" as he calls it, will take a process of taking the whole dash out.. now am I crazy or does that seem like to much money?? is there any other way around this?WHAT ELSE COULD MY PROBLEM BE?? ....IS this rediculous quote about right? because I canT fathom it costing THAT much to fix a actuator?? HELP!!

On my truck i popped the radio out and reached in there with a magnetic socket and got it. You may try that

I have an 04 and my sensor on top of my dash fell inside the dash. I toke the whole top of the dash off in about 15 minutes and you could get to slot of things with this part of the dash off. I'm not saying you could get to the actuator or not because I'm not sure where that is located but before I paid $1700 I would certainly make sure I could'nt do it myself. You may be able to find a video on youtube that would help you.

"$1700" wouldn't be for the actuator but for the broken air temperature door. The HVAC module assembly has to come out first, the same as needed for heater core or A/C evaporator replacement. If you try it and screw it up, it'll cost you double that.
