Default Engine died suddenly, won't crank

I have a 1999 Silverado 2500 4x4 with the 6.0 and 127,000 miles.

-I merged onto the freeway and the truck just died and would not start.

-No codes either.

-I replaced the battery and starter. You can hear the starter engage but no crankshaft movement. I can turn the crankshaft over with a socket and the flywheel also turns with it.

-I am at a loss. I had the starter checked to make sure the bendix comes up and it does but it doesn't explain the sudden engine stop.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you jc gnysgt (ret)

Default Loss of Fire?

Have you tried replacing the distributor cap or rotor?
