Default Fuel control system

I have a 2009 silverado 4.3l with the engine light on. According to onstar there is a problem with the fuel control system. Any suggestions on a fix?

Are you out of warranty? If not take it in to the dealer. If you are out of warranty, go to Autozone and they will read the code for you for free and might be able to tell what the problem is.

I agree with "oldchevy", have the vehicle inspected for additional information. Is there still a warranty left on the vehicle?

It could be a fuel cap issue. If your gas tank cap is not screwed on all the way the engine light comes on. After you do screw it on it takes a lot of on off ignition cycles for it to go off or you can have a shop turn it off.
