Default Is it the fuel pump

A couple of weeks ago, I pulled my 01 2500 HD/8.1 out of the garage and drove around the corner to top off the tank before my fishing trip the next day. As soon as I left the service station parking lot my truck started missing severely. I immediately thought it must have been the gas since I've had no issues at all like this.

I limped home and pumped out all of the fuel, went to another station, filled up and she ran like a champ. Haven't had an issue since, have towed the boat probably 6 trips since. Well, this morning heading out towards the lake again, she starts severely missing(stuttering) again. I shut if off, wait a few minutes, drive around the block a couple of times and she's now running just fine. Continued on to the lake, 150 miles round trip, no issues.

Does this sound like the fuel pump possibly going bad? Or fuel filter? It has new plugs and wires.

Thanks guys

Chances are its probably just a dirty fuel filter that needs to be replaced.
