Default Headers ?

Looking to change my exhaust manifolds to headers before I run a flowmaster 40 series. Any suggestions on the best headers to buy??

Ok thanks. Will there be any gains by changing my headers and my exhaust?

Definite gains to be had with headers. You are going to need a tune though.

Without a tune you will get a CEL and possible the danger of your truck running lean.

A tune with remap the fuel trims and turn off the rear 02 sensors so you can still pass emission inspections depending on the state.

If you purchase "shorty" headers that connect to the stock Cats a tune is not necessary, but HP gains will be minimal and probably not worth the effort.

Longtubes are a lil more trouble but well worth it.

So I should just purchase regular LPP headers instead of longtubes?

Okay. Cool. Do you know how much a shop would charged roughly for headers to be put in?
