Default Installing Speakers in 2000 Silverado: DIY or Pro?

My front speakers in my 2000 Silverado are ready to die on me. The front left hisses sometimes and the front right vibrates when any bass is played. I've put up with it for about 3 weeks but now I'm getting tired of it. I'm thinking of picking up a pair of inexpensive speakers at Best Buy like these and having them put in so that I can listen to my music without any weirdness. Question: Is it worth to have them installed by Best Buy for $40 (thinking it may be) or is it easy to be installed by me and my dad?

It's pretty easy to do it yourself.

The only hard part is reinserting the window crank handleretainer clip on the back side of the handle.
Other than that everything comes off and goes back on easy enough.

In a nutshell,

remove the door handle bezel (pops out with a flat screw driver).
remove the window crank handle (if it's manual windows) you need to remove the retaining clip in the back of the handle.
if it's electric, remove and unplug the switch panel by inserting a flat screwdriver in the slots to release the retaining clips.
remove the upper trim panel (it's the coverthat hides the mounting screws for the mirror) it comes off pretty easy, again use a flat screwdriver.
pull off the door lock button (again use a flat screwdriver)it too comes off easy.
remove and unplug the courtesy light/reflector (at the bottom). pu**** forward slightly and pullit out.

remove the screws that hold the door panel in place;
1-behind the door lock button
2-behind/next to the door handle
3-at the bottom of the door near the front
4-behind the courtesy light/reflector. (not too sure about this one....'been a long time since I changed my speakers)

Once the screws are out just lift up on the door paneland it comes off.

Change your speakers and reverse the order to re-assemble.

Don't force anything out. If you're forcing it's because you're not doing it right.

Best o' luck.

last time I bought stuff like that from best buy, if you bought it there, they installed for free. Check Circuit City because I think they install for free...(CC installed my remote starter I bought from them a few years ago for my other truck, and then when I had problems for it they would look at it and fix it for free because they installed it)

Sounds like I'll be letting them install it. Was actually planning on it after thinking about it. Will they install them that day?

I used Crutchfield for all my stereo needs on my 02, they have a tool also to remove the door panels. I've done it on 3 Chevrolets and the 99-02 body style is by far the easiest. If you want more info let me know.

none of my biz, but crutchfield is AWFULLY overpriced. and there is no need for any special tools to remove the door panels. phillips head screwdriver and good set of hands.
