Question more power

hey guys....I got a 2009 Silverado 1500 ext cab 4x4 with the small 4.8 liter....I want more power so I got a hold of a 6.0.liter....will this bolt to my original tranny.....and is there any other things that I should be aware of.

do you want help from people that dont know the answer? anyone can make something up and say yea it fits throw it in. I dont think it will bolt right up, seeing as how ur going from a small motor to a fairly big one but thats just my speculation.

You would want to get a 4l80e, those trannys are meant for the 6.0s, otherwise you can end up possibly blowing out the 4l60e that your truck currently has. You might also want to get a different torque converter. Just my 2 cents

It'll bolt up yes, but like said that tranny will go sooner or later with the extra power. I'm thinkin you have the 65e which is a lil stronger unit than the 60e. But they're not the greatest. Also need to look into tunin because the 4.8 has a different factory tune than the 6.0s. What year did the 6.0 come out of?

I bolted up a cammed LQ9 6.0 to my 4L60E and drove the **** out of it with no problems in my 02 Sierra.
